Unification ministry budgets $300K for new YouTube channel about North Korea

Channel will ‘inform’ public about DPRK as ministry pivots from promoting dialogue to drawing attention to human rights

South Korea’s unification ministry has budgeted $300,000 to start a new YouTube channel focused on providing “objective information about North Korea,” the ministry told NK News on Wednesday.

The new channel will supplement the ministry’s current channel and will focus on “understanding the reality of North Korea,” targeting not just a domestic audience but also foreigners, the ministry said.
