South Korea’s unification ministry has budgeted $300,000 to start a new YouTube channel focused on providing “objective information about North Korea,” the ministry told NK News on Wednesday.

The new channel will supplement the ministry’s current channel and will focus on “understanding the reality of North Korea,” targeting not just a domestic audience but also foreigners, the ministry said.

The initiative appears to be part of the Yoon administration’s broader focus on raising awareness about DPRK human rights violations.

The ministry told NK News that it has not decided on the launch date and name of the new YouTube channel.
