Activists sentenced to 12 years in prison for taking orders from North Korea

ROK court convicts three South Koreans for spying for DPRK and accepting cash during period of inter-Korean detente

A South Korean court sentenced three unification activists to 12 years in prison each on Friday for spying for North Korea, after they were charged with taking orders and accepting thousands of dollars from DPRK operatives.

The Cheongju District Court’s Criminal Investigation Department confirmed to NK News that the court sentenced the three members of the “North Chungcheong Comrade Party for Independent Unification” for violating the National Security Act.
