Russian authorities promote tour to North Korea in early February

Trip organized by Far East region could mark first return of tourists to DPRK since pandemic begin

Authorities in the Russian Far East have started advertising a travel package for residents to visit North Korea from early next month, signaling what could be the first return of foreign tourists since the country shut its borders due to COVID-19 in 2020.

In a post on Telegram, the government of the Far East region of Primorsky Krai announced that the five-day tour to Pyongyang and the Masikryong ski resort in the southeast will depart on Feb. 9.
