North Korean health official set to make first appearance on WHO executive board

DPRK’s election to board has been controversial, with upcoming session to cover violence in Gaza and Ukraine

The new North Korean member of the World Health Organization’s (WHO) executive board is set to make his first appearance at a meeting on Monday, following the DPRK’s controversial election to the board last year.

Dr. Jong Min Pak, director at the Department of External Affairs for the Ministry of Public Health in Pyongyang, will join representatives from 33 other countries for the 154th session of the WHO’s executive board from Jan. 22-27 in Geneva, according to the WHO’s website.
