North Korean delegation to attend Non-Aligned Movement summit in Uganda

DPRK’s decision to send vice foreign minister signals summit is becoming less important to Pyongyang, expert says

A North Korean delegation will attend the 19th Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) summit in Uganda this month, according to state media, as Pyongyang looks to refocus its diplomacy toward countries that oppose the West.

The party-run Rodong Sinmun reported on Sunday that a delegation led by Vice Foreign Minister Kim Son Gyong left Pyongyang the previous day for the meeting of 120 countries unaligned with traditional major power blocs. The summit in Kampala will run from Jan. 15-20.
