North Korea has closed its embassy in Libya, South Korea’s foreign ministry confirmed to NK News, marking the latest in a series of mission closures since late last year. 

The foreign ministry also confirmed the closure of the DPRK’s consulate in Hong Kong on Tuesday. However, NK News had already reported on the closure last year after China’s foreign ministry released a statement verifying the news. 

Seoul’s foreign ministry also updated statistics on its website to show that North Korea has embassies in 44 countries, down from the previous 46.
