Chinese delegation arrives in North Korea after visit by vice foreign minister

Group is in Pyongyang to celebrate North Korea-China Friendship Lunar New Year Festival for first time since 2020

A Chinese delegation arrived in Pyongyang on Monday to celebrate the North Korea-China Friendship Lunar New Year Festival, according to DPRK state media KCNAjust days after a Chinese foreign ministry delegation left the country as the pair mark 75 years of official relations. 

The delegation that arrived Monday is headed by Liu Huiyan, director of the Propaganda Department of the Liaoning Provincial Committee. It was greeted at Pyongyang Sunan International Airport by Kim Kwang Il, vice chairman of the DPRK-China Friendship Association and Ambassador Wang Yajun from the Chinese Embassy in Pyongyang, according to the KCNA.
