North Korean carrier flies to China’s Shenyang for first time in four years

Experts note that city is biggest near DPRK border and has long been a hub for North Koreans in China

A North Korean passenger plane flew to the Chinese city of Shenyang on Wednesday, the first flight in four years to the regional city with a significant population of DPRK nationals.

An Air Koryo Tu-204-100B jet landed at Shenyang’s Taoxian International Airport at around 12:50 p.m. KST on Wednesday after an almost hour-long flight from Pyongyang, according to flight-tracking services Umetrip and FlightRadar 24.
