Nicaragua appears set to open embassy in Pyongyang as DPRK slowly resumes diplomatic engagement with friends

Nicaragua’s new ambassador to North Korea will soon take up his post in Pyongyang, according to Managua, as the Latin American country prepares to open an embassy in the capital.

In an interview with Canal 4 Nicaragua on Tuesday, Rosario Murillo — Nicaragua’s vice president, first lady and a government spokesperson — stated that the DPRK has cleared Manuel Modesto Munguía Martínez to start work in the country.
