G7 foreign ministers condemn alleged North Korean weapons sales to Russia

Expert says discussion of arms sales for Ukraine war reflect fears that Pyongyang and Moscow are growing closer

The top diplomats of the Group of Seven industrialized nations “strongly condemned” North Korea’s alleged provision of arms to Russia for the war against Ukraine, according to a readout of their meeting on Wednesday. 

In an Indo-Pacific session of the G7 Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in Tokyo, the group discussed various concerns related to the region, including nuclear and missile threats from the DPRK, Japan’s foreign ministry said in a press release Wednesday.
