Russian foreign minister to visit North Korea amid US accusations of arms trade

Moscow says Sergei Lavrov will visit Pyongyang from Oct. 18-19, in follow up to last month’s Kim-Putin summit

Russian foreign minister Sergei Lavrov will pay an official visit to North Korea this week, the Russian government announced on Monday, days after the U.S. presented new evidence that Pyongyang is supplying Moscow with military equipment for its war in Ukraine.

Lavrov will visit Pyongyang from Oct. 18 to 19 “at the invitation” of the North Korean foreign ministry, according to a Russian foreign ministry statement.
