Russian foreign minister Sergei Lavrov will pay an official visit to North Korea this week, the Russian government announced on Monday, days after the U.S. presented new evidence that Pyongyang is supplying Moscow with military equipment for its war in Ukraine.

Lavrov will visit Pyongyang from Oct. 18 to 19 “at the invitation” of the North Korean foreign ministry, according to a Russian foreign ministry statement.

The trip comes after North Korean leader Kim Jong Un visited the Russian Far East in September for a summit with Vladimir Putin to discuss military, space and economic cooperation. The Russian leader
