North Korean women fall to Japan in Asian Games soccer final

Nadeshiko Japan pours it on after close first half to take gold, though DPRK athletes performed better in other sports

North Korea’s women’s soccer team lost out on a gold medal at the Asian Games on Friday in a 4-1 defeat to Japan in Hangzhou.

It was a tense match through the first half, with the DPRK dominating the ball and mounting several offensive attacks. This led to the match being stalemated at a 1-1 tie for nearly sixty minutes, with the DPRK always seemingly on the cusp of a goal.
