Family appeals to UN to stop repatriation of North Korean woman in China

Appeal says Kim Sun-hyang is being held in Chinese prison, naming one of 2,000 who face forced return for first time

The aunt of a North Korean woman reportedly in a Chinese detention center has filed an urgent appeal to a U.N. working group to prevent her repatriation to the DPRK.

Thirty-six-year-old Kim Sun-hyang, a mother of two, has been held in a Chinese prison since May 2022 and has recently been transferred to a facility known to be a last stop before repatriation to North Korea, the appeal provided to NK News states.
