US, ROK and Japan impose sanctions on North Korean satellite and drone programs

Expert says designations appear aimed at highlighting countries’ trilateral security cooperation against DPRK threats

The U.S., South Korea and Japan all announced independent sanctions against North Korea-linked individuals and entities in recent days, in response to Pyongyang’s efforts to develop satellites and drones.

The three countries' announcements of the sanctions in short succession seeks to signal their trilateral coordination against DPRK threats, one expert told NK News.
