North Korean envoy faces criticism of latest ICBM launch at ASEAN forum

DPRK envoy to Indonesia joins meeting of Southeast Asian nations in place of foreign minister as bloc urges nukes talks

North Korea’s envoy to Indonesia joined an annual conference of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) last week, where participants condemned Pyongyang’s latest intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) launch.

Ambassador An Kwang Il participated in Friday’s minister-level meeting at the ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF) in the absence of foreign minister Choe Son Hui, who did not attend as North Korea’s borders remain closed, official photos of the event show.
