Map apps add locations where South Koreans can shelter from North Korean attack

Interior ministry says emergency facilities now easier to find, after false evacuation alert triggered panic in May

The locations of emergency shelters meant to provide protection from North Korean missiles and artillery fire are now searchable on South Korean navigation apps, according to the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.

The announcement last week aligns with the recent resumption of nationwide air raid defense drills, and follows a false evacuation alert in Seoul in late May that sparked panic among some locals unsure of where to seek shelter.
