US, ROK nuke envoys hold talks on strengthening joint action against North Korea

Meeting in Washington follows DPRK’s failed satellite launch and comes as allies boost efforts against cyber threats

Top nuclear envoys from the U.S. and South Korea held talks Monday on strengthening joint action against North Korea, Seoul’s foreign ministry told NK News, as the allies look to step up pressure on Pyongyang following its recent satellite launch.

U.S. special representative for North Korea Sung Kim and his ROK counterpart Kim Gunn discussed the failed launch and possible countermeasures against further escalations, South Korea’s Yonhap News Agency reported after the meeting in Washington.
