April shipment is latest in series of grain exports to DPRK in recent months, as Pyongyang stresses food production

Russia sent over a thousand tons of wheat flour to North Korea in April, according to the Russian government, the latest in a series of publicized grain shipments since earlier this year.

In a press release, Russia’s federal veterinary customs agency said on Friday that the Siberian region of Kuzbass exported 1,280 tons of wheat flour to the DPRK out of a total of 19,918 tons of grain products sent to seven Asian and eastern European countries.
