South Korea’s unification ministry has formed a new committee tasked with overseeing the launch of a government-led North Korean human rights foundation, nearly seven years after the passage of a law requiring its establishment.
The new committee will work on “preparations for the launch of the foundation, gather and publicize opinions for the promotion of North Korean human rights and promote civic groups until the establishment of the new foundation,” the ministry announced in a press release on Monday.
