The U.S. and 10 other countries have condemned North Korea’s “reckless” launch of a long-range ballistic missile over the weekend, following a U.N. Security Council (UNSC) meeting that again failed to reach a consensus on Pyongyang’s missile program.
In a joint statement delivered Monday, the countries highlighted North Korea’s intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) launch on Saturday as well as two subsequent rocket launches on Monday as violations of UNSC launches and called on the DPRK to abandon its nuclear and missile programs “in a complete, verifiable, and irreversible manner.”
