Jin, the oldest member of K-pop megaband BTS, said this week that he will complete training for South Korea’s compulsory military service at a “front-line” center, a revelation that has many fans concerned about the dangers he’ll face so close to the North Korean border.
”That’s so cruel, I don’t want them to go and do that,” one of the group’s fans, known as ARMY, wrote on social media. “Why put a national treasure in danger?” another fan asked about the training, reportedly a strong sign that the 30-year-old pop star will end up in a border unit.
