Seoul prosecutors requested an arrest warrant for former National Security Advisor Suh Hoon on Tuesday over his response to North Korea’s killing of a ROK fisheries official, prosecutors confirmed to NK News.

A warrant would enable prosecutors to detain Suh while they examine allegations he forged documents and abused his authority to compromise the initial investigation into the death of Lee Dae-jun in DPRK waters in Sept. 2020. 

It’s the first time prosecutors have requested an arrest warrant for a presidential official from the previous Moon Jae-in administration. 

The Seoul Central District Prosecutors’ Office did not specify the charges
