North Korea backed Russia’s seizure of four Ukrainian regions at the U.N. on Wednesday, voting against a resolution that demanded Moscow reverse course on its “attempted illegal annexation.”
The DPRK was one of only five countries to oppose the resolution, along with Syria, Nicaragua, Belarus and Russia. The resolution passed with an overwhelming majority of 143 member states voting in favor, including the U.S. and South Korea, while 35 countries abstained.
