UN chief to visit Seoul to discuss North Korean nuclear issue

Antonio Guterres will also visit Mongolia due to its close ties to DPRK during Asia trip focused on nonproliferation

The head of the United Nations will visit South Korea next week as part of an Asia trip aimed at preventing nuclear proliferation and promoting disarmament, focusing in particular on North Korea.

U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres will also visit Japan and Mongolia during the trip this month, according to a press release on Tuesday, which comes as Pyongyang has tested an array of weapons this year and as it reportedly prepares to conduct a nuclear test.
