North Korea slams US over Pelosi’s Taiwan trip, pledges support for Beijing

DPRK foreign ministry says Washington ‘ruining’ regional security after top lawmaker lands in Taipei

U.S. lawmaker Nancy Pelosi’s trip to Taiwan this week is “ruining regional peace and security,” North Korea’s foreign ministry said Wednesday, reiterating its support for Beijing’s claims over the island.

Pelosi landed in Taiwan on Tuesday night to support Taipei’s “vibrant democracy” and oppose China’s “autocracy,” the congresswoman said on Twitter, sparking outcry from Beijing after it issued a series of warnings against the trip.
