G7 leaders urge full implementation of UN sanctions against North Korea

Joint statement condemns DPRK’s repeated missile testing, as US prepares to talk new sanctions with South Korea

The Group of Seven (G7) nations called for the full implementation of U.N. sanctions on North Korea on Tuesday in response to its “unlawful” ballistic missile testing, as the U.S. is scheduled to discuss new DPRK sanctions targets with South Korea.

In a joint statement released after their summit in Germany, the leaders of the G7 urged Pyongyang to abandon its nuclear and missile programs in a “complete, verifiable and irreversible manner."
