The family of a South Korean man killed in North Korean waters in 2020 intends to sue former top Seoul official Suh Hoon over the military’s initial claim that the man had attempted to defect, the family announced on Friday.
At a press conference, the family of fisheries official Lee Dae-jun said they will also take legal action against former President Moon Jae-in if the government does not release sealed records about the investigation into Lee’s killing by DPRK soldiers.
