France open to providing COVID vaccines to North Korea, ambassador to Seoul says

Philippe Lefort tells NK News that Paris considers humanitarian aid separately from human rights and security concerns

France is willing to provide COVID-19 vaccines to North Korea, the country’s ambassador to South Korea told NK News on Tuesday, noting that Paris has “capacity to give more resources” to help the DPRK combat an ongoing outbreak.

At an event in Seoul on resolving North Korea’s “enforced disappearance crimes,” Ambassador Philippe Lefort said France will separate humanitarian assistance from concerns over the DPRK’s human rights violations and continued missile testing.
