Statement from Pyongyang comes after human rights council passes DPRK human rights resolution for 20th straight year

North Korea slammed a recent United Nations resolution condemning Pyongyang’s human rights abuses, describing the move as the “height of deception.”

The United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) adopted a resolution for the 20th consecutive year on Friday condemning the human rights situation in North Korea, which has worsened under the country’s “draconian” anti-COVID-19 measures according to the U.N. special rapporteur for North Korean human rights Tomas Ojea Quintana.
