US bans import of Chinese sportswear brand due to use of North Korean labor

US border authorities says action seeks to ensure forced labor not used in goods that enter country

The U.S has barred the importation of merchandise from a Chinese sportswear company, after an American customs investigation revealed the company uses North Korean labor in its supply chain.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announced the move against Li-Ning Company Ltd. on Tuesday, citing the Countering America’s Adversaries Act that prohibits the entry of goods produced wholly or in part by North Korean nationals anywhere in the world.
