The U.S. and China continued high-level contact over North Korea-related issues, the White House announced Monday, with top officials meeting in Rome days after the U.S. and others revealed that Pyongyang tested two long-range missile systems in the past weeks.

U.S. National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan shared “serious concerns” about North Korea with his Chinese counterpart Yang Jiechi, according to a senior U.S. official.

The meeting came after Sung Kim, Washington’s DPRK policy lead, and his Chinese counterpart Liu Xiaoming discussed Pyongyang’s Feb. 27 and March 5 projectile tests in a phone call last week.
