Four years after it hosted the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics that helped usher in a series of diplomatic meetings between the two Koreas, Gangwon Province hopes to push inter-Korean relations forward again through sport.

The South Korean province sent an official proposal to Pyongyang to co-host the 2024 Winter Youth Olympics, Kim Kyung-sung, president of the Inter-Korean Sports Association, told NK News at the Pyeongchang Peace Forum 2022.
