Justice Department scraps Trump-era China program, expands focus to North Korea

US prosecutor says new policy will target DPRK cyber threats and ‘nefarious activity’ by ‘hostile’ states

The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) has scrapped a program created to counter Chinese espionage, opting instead for a broader approach aimed at North Korea and other “hostile nation-states.”

Assistant Attorney General Matthew Olsen announced the move during a speech at George Mason University on Wednesday, saying the DOJ has canceled the Trump-era China Initiative.
