The Biden administration is taking a "step-by-step” approach to the North Korea nuclear issue that straddles the line between Obama-era “strategic patience” and Donald Trump’s “grand bargain,” according to National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan.
Sullivan did not clarify what shape or form this approach might take in his remarks last week, but South Korean President Moon Jae-in signaled his support for a “step-by-step" approach after the U.S.-ROK summit in May.
