Speakers at Seoul forum question push for end-of-war declaration with DPRK

Experts voice concerns about unresolved POW situation, citing hundreds of ROK soldiers reportedly stuck in DPRK

South Korean lawmakers and experts raised concerns about the Moon administration’s push for an end-of-war declaration at a Seoul forum on Thursday, with one analyst stressing the need to raise the issue of prisoners of war (POW) in peace talks with North Korea.

The forum, “Declaration of the End of the War: The Limitations and Prospects,” took place as South Korean President Moon Jae-in has continued to seek a breakthrough with the DPRK on ending the Korean War in recent months, as he nears the end of his five-year term.
