G7 foreign chiefs call on North Korea to refrain from ‘provocative actions’

Diplomats call for ‘verifiable and irreversible’ end to DPRK weapons programs after G7 earlier opted for softer language

Top diplomats from the Group of Seven (G7) have called on North Korea to refrain from “provocative actions” and return to denuclearization talks, reinforcing a statement from earlier this year.

The remarks came at the G7 Foreign and Development Ministers summit in Liverpool, U.K. over the weekend, where participants shared concerns about North Korea’s nuclear and missile developments, among other issues.
