US, ROK hint at disagreements on ending Korean War after top diplomats meet

The two allies’ views on end-of-war declaration reflect different ideas on how best to engage North Korea, expert says

The top diplomats of the U.S. and South Korea met on Sunday to discuss North Korea-related issues, signaling broad agreement on the need to denuclearize the Korean Peninsula.

But readouts from Washington and Seoul after the meeting hinted at possible differences of opinion on an end-of-war declaration, a measure that South Korean President Moon Jae-in has prioritized in recent months.
