US envoy blasts North Korea sanctions committee for ‘not doing its job’

Ambassador to UN calls for stronger sanctions implementation in response to DPRK’s ‘reckless provocations’

The U.S. ambassador to the U.N. criticized the committee overseeing North Korean sanctions on Wednesday for failing to effectively implement sanctions in the wake of the DPRK’s “reckless provocations.”

Linda Thomas-Greenfield also condemned North Korea’s recent ballistic missile tests, including of a new submarine-launched ballistic missile (SLBM) on Tuesday, as “unlawful” and “unacceptable.”
