Seoul has approved three new requests to provide health care-related aid to North Korea, the Ministry of Unification (MOU) announced on Thursday, though it’s unclear how and when the delivery will take place amid the DPRK’s continuing COVID-19 border restrictions.
The latest approval follows the restoration of inter-Korean hotlines earlier this week. Seoul last greenlit aid in late July, the first time it had done so since DPRK soldiers shot and killed a South Korean official in the North’s waters in Sept. 2020.
