South Korea’s intelligence agency said that North Korean leader Kim Jong Un ordered that the country secure every grain of rice and devote all-out efforts to farming in North Korea, according to lawmakers briefed by the agency. South Korea’s National Intelligence Service (NIS) delivered the findings at a closed-door briefing on Thursday, during an annual parliamentary audit. North Korea has mobilized all military and civilians to overcome the food crisis and finished this year’s harvest around Oct. 20, according to Ha Tae-keung, a lawmaker briefed by the intelligence agency.
