U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Japanese Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi addressed their concerns over North Korea’s nuclear and ballistic missile programs during a call held on Thursday, according to the U.S. and Japanese governments.
The call was the first between the top diplomats since Japan’s new prime minister Fumio Kishida assumed the role this week. It lasted for 15 minutes and touched on security issues in the region that concern both states.
