US says offer for dialogue with North Korea stands after military parade

State Department adds that DPRK’s restart of nuclear reactor shows ‘urgent need for diplomacy’

The U.S. government stressed on Thursday that its offer to engage with North Korea stands, after Pyongyang held a military parade and appeared to ramp up activity at its primary nuclear reactor.

The U.S. State Department told reporters that Washington doesn’t have a specific reaction to the parade but is aware of recent developments in North Korea, reiterating its hope for dialogue and diplomacy with the country.
