North Korea calls Human Rights Watch a ‘puppet’ of the US

The nongovernmental organization has long documented human rights abuses inside the DPRK

North Korea slammed the nonprofit Human Rights Watch (HRW) on Sunday, calling the organization a “mouthpiece and puppet” of the U.S. over its reaction to alleged human rights violations in Afghanistan.

North Korea’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) shared a statement by a senior researcher at an entity called the Association for Human Rights Studies, accusing HRW of duplicitousness for its “silence” about American conduct in Afghanistan.
