The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has suspended North Korea until the end of 2022 in response to its “unilateral decision” not to participate in the Tokyo Summer Games earlier this year.
The decision, announced Wednesday, comes after the closing ceremony of the Tokyo Paralympics earlier this week. North Korea did not send a delegation to either event this summer.
