Michael Spavor, a Canadian citizen and DPRK consultant, was freed from detention in China and is on his way back home, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced on Friday. Speaking to reporters at a late night press conference, Trudeau said that Michael Spavor, along with former Canadian diplomat Michael Kovrig, was released from detention after more than two and a half years. “These two men have gone through an unbelievably difficult ordeal,” Trudeau said. “For the past 1,000 days they have shown strife, perseverance, resilience, and grace — and we are all inspired by that.” Spavor was arrestedon © Korea Risk Group.
