US, ROK to keep close eye on North Korea amid joint drills: foreign ministry

Statement comes after top US envoy on North Korea Sung Kim met his ROK counterpart Noh Kyu-duk

The United States’ top North Korea envoy visited Seoul this past weekend, meeting with his South Korean counterpart to discuss ongoing U.S.-ROK military drills and humanitarian assistance to the DPRK.

Seoul’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) said that Sung Kim and South Korea’s Noh Kyu-duk met on Monday and pledged to keep a close eye on inter-Korean developments while the exercises continue.
