North Korea reports no COVID cases after testing 665 more people

State media continues to emphasize ‘epidemic prevention campaign’ as Pyongyang defends its border lockdown

North Korea claims that it has tested an additional 665 people for COVID-19 but discovered no positive cases, according to the World Health Organization (WHO).

The WHO’s weekly situation report, released on Monday, states that the DPRK conducted the latest round of polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests from Aug. 12-19 on 97 people with flu-like illness or respiratory infections and 568 health care workers.
