North Korea again self-reports no COVID-19 as number tested exceeds 32,000

DPRK says it tested an additional 718 people as Seoul think tank says Pyongyang has rejected AstraZeneca vaccines

North Korea has claimed that it has found no cases of COVID-19 after testing an additional 718 people, according to a weekly World Health Organization (WHO) report, pushing the total number of people tested in the country above 32,000.

The report released Friday says that all 718 persons tested in the DPRK using polymerase chain reaction from June 25 to July 1 came back negative for the virus, including 127 people with influenza-like illness or severe acute respiratory infections. North Korea said it has now tested 64,750 samples from 32,512 people.
