Fertilizer and refined oil took up the majority of Chinese exports to North Korea this past May, new Chinese customs data shows.

According to China’s General Administration of Customs (GAC), China officially exported $2.7 million worth of goods to North Korea in May. The fertilizer chemicals urea and diammonium phosphate took up around three-quarters of the total export volume. 

Meanwhile, fuel oil accounted for 18% of total North Korean imports from China.

The latest data showed a contraction in the total volume and variety of exports to the DPRK compared to the previous month.
