Microsoft won a civil suit against two unidentified hackers working for the North Korea-linked Thallium Group, according to recently released documents filed in a U.S. district court.

The lawsuit, first filed in Dec. 2019, ruled in favor of Microsoft on Nov. 20 of last year after the hackers failed to respond with a defense over the course of 90 days.

In its original complaint, Microsoft accused two unknown individuals of causing roughly $5,000 in company losses and claimed that Thallium Group caused “irreparable” economic harm by impersonating Microsoft products like Hotmail and Outlook with deceiving domains to phish
